turbo automatic?... ( honda fanatic losing faith here)
So how did volkswagen and nissan make all those auto turbos work? ( i'm just saying since i have a friend with an auto jetta turbo and i thought... " its it possible to put one in mine?") i just did a search and all i can find is negative feedback to putting a turbo on an auto... i just read a magazine where a dude bosted his auto 300zx and is pulling 11.5 seconds in the quarter mile ( its called the "ferrarZ" in the issue of modified magazine november/ 03)
i am sorry to say, especially since i have always been an hardcore honda fanatic... but should i sell my car and get the competition since honda doesnt see it fit to satisfy the people that want a turbo automatic? i'm just saying since i drove the jetta and i fell in love with the boost ( especially the hissing sound when u accelerate)
(and yes... i do know how to drive stick but since i wanna gave my car to a family member i want her to have some power and feel unique in the scene) ( basically a want a sleeper for her)

Maybe you should just buy her a competitor's car. Honda doesn't actually make a turbo stick either. Why don't you just turbo the car and then give it to her? Maybe I don't understand your full situation. Well, uhh, Good luck.
basicaly i want a turbo for myself until she gets her license ( she still has a way to go) but this civic is my first car and is my baby ( witch is why i want to keep it in the family)
to be honest its just that i am rather dissapointed that honda hasnt come up with a turbo auto... ( or a auto turbo upgrade)
it's funny how honda says its trying to keep up with the competition and theyre not even close to doing what they are doing... but i know for sure that if they really wanted to, they could do it ( as i said b4... i am a honda fanatic)

Honda never made a turbo car because there is other ways to make efficient power while reducing emissions and boosting gas economy. And if you would research more, you could turbo your Honda and blow the german doors off that jetta and remain auto if thats your thang. - Darrell

I don't even need turbo to **** up a 1.8t.
Honda has an "auto turbo upgrade" called build it yourself.

Why do you have a 2.5" exhaust? If you wanna mess up a 1.8t turbo what you got to get a 1.8L or larger vtec honda motor. If you do some work to a b16 and are a good driver you should be able to mess them up. My neighbor has a galant and he sprays. His car still sucks. Get a 5-speed.

Why not just turbo it. There is nothing wrong with turboing an auto honda. Go read in the FI forum and learn all about turboing a honda. The only difference in your case would be you would have to worry about how the auto trans would hold up to the power output from the turbo.
Why do you want to beat a 1.8t? It is probably a lot harder than just nos, especially for an auto (unless the 1.8t is an auto as well.) Maybe you should just build a showcar.
i have a turbo auto civic. it's been running good so far but it's already going away. it's good b/c all u need to do is step on the gas and that's it but as far as reliability, it's not good. i'm saving for a swap. that's my .02 cents.

Again, they dont hold up well. I'm speaking from a friend who ran a 75 shot on an auto lx with an a6 motor. Slipped pretty bad and the shifts were terrible. Tranny had about 150k on it but where would you find a lower mileage auto tranny anyway? Course his tranny could have just been on its way out....best way to find out is to try, just dont expect much.

Why not just add a bolt on Turbo on your civic
Jetta 1.8t I know their good but based on my friends Jetta 1.8t, shes been having trouble with it lately after 8 months. She doesn't race, its just daily driven from school to work to home and she doesn't even drive fast.
Her cars symptoms: When put to Drive when pedal is pressed. it felt like its dragging or a few seconds without any response then drags. And recently she recieve a recall notice to change either coil or distributor(not really sure plz. correct me... but she have me read the notice. apparently people have been having trouble with this model)
Imnot saying Jetta sucks but be careful with this model
(I just though you need another review)

Sweet site, I've never seen a place that offered auto upgrades like they do for domestics. Good find.
Only problem I see is that these are kits, so $500 for the kit then you have to either do it yourself or find someone who does....boh.
