Default 88 crx hf rear shock removal.

i was trying to remove the back shocks the other day off my 88 crx hf and as most know the only thing holding the back shocks is the two mounting bolts that hold the shock to the body of the car and then the single large bolt going through the bottom of the shock. well i was trying to get the large bolt out of the bottom of the stock and it came out about quarter of the way and then wouldn't budge. im thinking its just the pressure from the actual shock bearing down on the one bolt. is there a good way of getting this pressure out so i can get this bolt out of the bottom? if all else failed i was just thinking of decompressing the spring while its attached to the car and then cut the spring up a few coils that way i can release all the pressure that is being applied onto this bolt. thanks for any help.

I just pulled the bolt through while cranking on it. It's worked for me like 10x now.
