Crx with B16 experience gone wrong
thought i would share experience with you guys.... me and my friend with a crx b16 went to eau claire race track a while back for a little fun (took almost a months to swaped) but it turned out to be a horrible day. the car had some overheating issues on the way to the track (i live in menomoney)he ran a 1/4th time of 18's at the track and after 3 runs axle broke
, we tried to drive it home and the engine blew on the way
-mechanic told us there was very little oil in the engine
. In my opinion this is worst swap experience ever (The car lasted 2 days
) i would highly recommend another swap

so you had a bad experience? so obviously all b16s are the wrong swap to go with? or am i just understanding you wrong? did you even find out why you were running low on oil?

Hold up. You took a car with a swap only two days done? Thats just asking for trouble. You always got to at least have a 'break in' period to make sure its all good. Remember these engines come over here after sitting for years with noone knowing if they were beat to **** or not.
I think you are just wanting to trash b16a's thats the thing to do now days.

Agreed. When I recieved my b16a I rebuilt the whole damn thing before putting it into my car. Now the engines running strong but the tranny is a different story.

Wow. Did you guys check the oil, coolant, seals and such before running it? You should always bring extra oil or coolant and anything you think you might need when you run your vehicle. That's a waste of engine.

a buddy of mine, not an hour after we finished dropping the motor in, grenaded his transmission, and when I saw grenaded, I mean **** was falling into my car from the sunroof, and I was 3 car lenghts behind him!
a break in period is a must. And I totally understand about the transmissions. Stronger than d series, but not strong enough.

I got a better one
i started a new job this week in a shop and the guy that use to work there
did the oil change but he forgot to put the oil in the car so when he went for a test drive the car had to be towed in because h blew the engine and the victim was brnd new

here is your problem. I would recommend, rather than a different swap, making sure that you have enough oil before trying to drive your car long distances, or push it hard (like on a race track).
did you even change the oil after you did the swap or just assume it had oil in it already?
did you check the fluids a few times and make sure everything was running properly?
