Default D16 mini-me with gsxr 600 ITBs

well... here are just a few pics of the latest motorcycle ITB set up to hit the road

it all started off with an OBX intake manifold, the gixxer throttle bodies and my own vacuum canister

lines up pretty well, wouldnt ya say?

all put together

then came the hard part.... putting it on the car

but it went fairly smoothly

it idles very rich, at ~-18 in/hg instead of -26 in/hg stock, so the ecu ends up feeding it a lot of fuel

i have a long night of tuning ahead of me, then i get to drive 2 hours tomorrow to the dyno

woot

Uberdata might work wonders in this case. Map scalar should clean things up. Since Uberdata has boost tables/columns that can be changed with the map scalar, edit the last boost column to be your WOT vac column, and from -18 to wot you'll have much better resolution. Dont forget to leave the range of -26 to -18 there, because your car will build this vacuum under engine braking when the plates are almost closed.

For starters you might wanna edit the columns also by putting the fuel values that were at -26, now at -18, since you are now idling there, and don't need all that extra fuel that's intended for a normal plenum at -18. Of course it aint that simple but for starters it should be much better then what it is right now on stock maps.

CHEETAH (Greg Samaroo) and Slebidia (Paul Davenport) explained this process to me and it makes total sense. Wish I had a chance to test it myself, but I have no such problems with the carbs . Good luck.

looks pretty good....golden eagle sells a vacuum box fuel rail looking thing for like 50 bucks shipped. looks a little better than the pcv box. great diy job though.

well, at some point during the installation, i managed to break the VTEC pressure sensor plug, and was unable to get it fixed in time for the dyno (hence the messy wiring) and ended up pulling only a 110/103 @6000 rpm on the small lobes with a 12.4:1 afr. i figure that with vtec working correctly, and a better tune of about 13.9:1 afr i would have been pulling something in the 120-130 range. I think the low end was really pretty nice, i was registering 65 lb-ft of torque at 1400 rpm, so it got out of the hole decently

i was really kicking myself for not being smart and fixing my problems and tuning it thoroughly before i went there.

but i supose i'll never really find out how much power it was possible of making since i have now sold it because i have to do a LOT of interstate driving in the next 3 months, and i was short on cash.

I'm putting together a similar setup, and may I suggest spacing the throttle bodies to exactly match the runner spacing, and then attaching the throttle bodies flush with the runners. You'll improve the airflow that way and help shift the powerband up a bit.

I concur , I was starting to mock up things on mine and they need to all be pulled apart and then fabbed up to really flow nice.

Looks good for how little work and cash you seem to have had in it.
