Water Suck Report
Let me preface this by saying that I'm running an AEM CAI without the bypass valve.
I was about half an hour into a two-hour drive home last night when the skies opened up (those of you who live in New Jersey know what I mean!). I managed to go along at a good clip in a really heavy downpour. At one point, I (accidentally) barrelled straight through a pretty deep puddle, sending up rooster tails as I went. I figured at that point that I'd done the engine in for good.
I pulled over after the puddle, engine still running. I jabbed the throttle a couple of times, just to see. No problem! I revved it up past 6000... everything's great!
I'm starting to think now that I'm never going to install that bypass valve. If I could make it home after driving through that lake, maybe everything will be all right after all!
P.S.,
As an aside, Rain-X on the windshield and windows really did its job!

A lot of people say it's a POS and a waste of money but until I hear of someone hydrolocking with a bypass valve, it'll give me some piece of mind. I just didn't want to regret not getting one. Who knows, maybe it is a POS.
