been out of the honda scene for about 4 years but i always wanted a rex for a toycar, i can now afford one and was just wondering how much new swaps run these days and if anyone knows any good shops in socal..

for a full swap with mounts
expect to spend 2500-3k

 

If you look around you can find a complete 1st gen swap for $1200. If you are lazy you still shouldnt end up paying more than $1500

Apex here in town charges $750 for the labor, Im sure there are many cheaper places out there too.

 

is that price 1200-1500 w/ all parts and labor? if thats the case seems very affordable

 

Expect to pay $2500 with engine/ecu/trans/mounts/linkage/waterpump/timing belt/clutch kit/fluids and shipping.

Also if you buy a swap buy a lsd trans. If you can't afford it wait a few more weeks then get a swap.

Its always best to save up a few more weeks to get what you want(everything right).

 

how much extra is a LSD tranny? do they come w/ real LSD or VLSD? or is that only for RWD?

 

most places it is an option and it runs for about $300 and its stock LSD

No that is just parts (labor here in Phoenix from a reputable shop is $750). I paid $1200 for a complete LSD swap (mounts, axles, ECU, etc) but also aggressively watched/shopped for two months before finding it.
