Default Best place for Oil Presure Sensor install?

For some reason I can't get the damn brass T fittings to screw into my stock Pressure sensor location.
I was wondering where would be the best alternative to tap into the oil system that is already threaded 1/8 npt?
Thanks,

Tom

DON'T USE A BRASS FITTING TO TEE OFF THE BACK OF THE BLOCK ! ! !

I've had two fall off into my hands after many miles of use. Get a fitting that screws into the stock sensor's location and that has a compression fitting on the other side. Run a nylon hose from that to a tee that is mounted somewhere. THEN run the hose to the gauge, and/or the sensor.

everyone always uses that one in the back, but look at the one just under the igniter, it is a much more accessable location, I have the pipe thread to a 4AN compression fitting which connects to my steel-braided hose that goes to the sender, ill take a picture of it in a little while

thats not a very good place to get you oil presure readings from,

there is a reason that the stock presure sender is where it is, it tells you what your presure is right after the oil comes out of the oil pump,

if you take your readings formthe head they are not going to be what you have donw at the bottom of the block, they will actually be reading much lower,

Actually the oil doesnt read much lower at all from the head, I have been monitering my oil pressure at that location for a while now and I've been getting the exact same readings as I did from where the stock oil pressure location is, I knew this would come up and I just wanted to let everyone know that this location works very well and is very easy to access

So I can use that location for my turbo feed line right?

so then why didn't honda put the sensor there in the first place?, no matter what the readings won't be as fast responding or as accurate as what you have down at the bottom right next to the oil pump, one can do what ever they want, but ideally you want to have your sensor as close to the presure source.

i have seen some people do it, but when i talked to flamco-t (stan) he didn't recommend it, saying sometimes there is barely enough oil up there for the head, and then you end up taking it away to feed your turbo, just do it right, no reasono starve your head and no reason to not feed your turbo right.

yes obviously the guage could not respond as quickly to changes being further away, but I'm not so sure I would notice a second or two difference anyway, unless it dropped to 0, anyhow that would not be a very good place for a turbo oil feed line like preludelittle said because it wouldn't really distribute the oil evenly, but the pressure sensor doesnt take away any oil so its been working for me pretty well serving as just an oil pressure sensor, and I was considering putting an oil temp sensor there too, but I'm not so sure I want my oil temp sensor after the oil cooler...

You can't use an NPT thread. You need a 1/8" BSPT to 1/8" NPT adapter first. For me, it wasn't the easiest thing to find. I ended up finding one at a hydraulic supply shop.

Speedtra 500,

would it be safe to screw the sending unit in directly to that location on the head, or is it necessary to use a hose and mount the sending unit elseware like you've done?
