YET another LS/VTEC build....pics inside(if they work no 56k)
pop those pistons in

2 down, 2 to go

hand tightning the rod bolts

torquing or "streching" the rod bolts
done wo0t!
some lumpyness there...

just installed today
water pump/oil pump - kinda need more bolts...

coolant neck

windage tray

what ever in the hell this thing is, cover the end of the crank where the tranny bolts up...
i know they are all missing some bolts. i have to find them...but they are just secure to the sealant will seat good
The Run Down:
B18A1 Block - Stock Bore
PR3 Pistons
Stock LS Crank
Stock LS rods
ACL bearings
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP Head Studs
Golden Eagle LS/VTEC Kit
Stock B16a Head
CTR Intake Cam
Middle Layer removed from head gasket
B16a Tranny
DC 4-1 header - 2.5 inch collector
2.5 inch test pipe
2.25 inch all the way back
Mugen Chipped P28
Right now i think that is about it...were shooting for 11.6ish compression on 93 octane...
motor should go in as soon as we get the time to put it in

Keep us updated. Looks good but, like stated above start a snap on account and buy a digital torque wrench

remind me not to be in that car when your driving..especially on an any trips with no cell phone coverage
good for you for doing your own work...thats great...wish more did. I believe in low budget builds but there are some things you can't skimp on. used pistons? sure big deal get new rings. used oil pumps? that better be real low mileage and that torque wrench is begging you to replace it. Its nothing more then a bar that bends to give you a round about reading...its far from accurate. Using it to tighten down the bolts holding your radiator in place is NOT the same as tightening your rod caps.

pistons have 17k miles on them out of a 2000 civic si, all the pistons have BRAND NEW RINGS
i'm not going to put the bottom end together anymore untill i get a better torque wrench..this one was borrowed..someone has mine
oil pump came off my b20 when i bought the long block, its up to the owner is he wants to use it or not...we can buy a new one if he would like...but this one looks fine..

if you can't take suggestions and help in preventing real issues you don't need to post here at all. ok? I'm both kidding with you yet giving you real advice. talking junk to me will get you banned. Your here to give technical advice and also receive it from others..if thats something your not willing to do then feel free to not post in this forum
seriously...please take the advice and pull that tray, girdle off and torque everything properly. its begging to spin bearings break/twise rods, shake flywheel, kill oil pump run dry etc. its honest friendly advice

You learn from your mistakes. Don't flame him to bad guys he will learn.
for building your own engines.
Simply tear apart your bottom end and retorque everything. As for the Oil pump that is the customers discretion all you can do is offer advice. (my advice to him would be to buy a new one).
Lip,
Good advice.

well, as far as the oil pump goes, the ls integras (98+) have the exact same oil pumps as the vtec integras........
