Anyone using Clifford Responder Remote?
I am trying to change the battery in the Responder remote (AAA-right?). Well, the place that installed it tossed my box and instructions so I have no manual. I am trying to get the battery cover open and it won't give up the goods. I don't wanna force it because I dont wanna have to buy a new remote because I snapped this one in two trying to get the battery cover off. Anyone have any suggestions on how this thing opens...short of being shattered?
depends on if you have the RS3 or the RS3.5
on the RS3 there is a cover on the back left hand side, pull slightly towards you and up on the top of the cover and it will slide up.
the RS3.5 is the same only the cover edge is on the bottom and it slides down.

I should have been a bit more clear in my first post. I have a Matrix 3.5x remote. The thumbnail grrove is near the top by the antenna. The is an arrow on the battery lid near the top pointing upwards. So...I pull towards me first then slide the lid upward?

I don't know if this is your model because the one on that .pdf is for the Matrix RS III. There is a section that says how to do it. Unfortunately, it's just words:
"Battery Replacement
Gently pull the end of the battery door away from the top of the remote control then slide the door up to expose the battery and remove the expired battery. Place the new battery into the remote control observing the correct polarity. When power is returned the remote control will light all icons in the LCD and generate all beeper tones once."
-aoib0t, who doesn't know if that helps.

Mine lasts about a month...Pager batteries only last about a month, so it's about right.

Hold all 4 buttons down at once until it make a long beep. Once it makes the long beep, release the buttons and press the unlock button. To make the remote vibrate instead of beep, use the same procedure, but press the lock button instead.

Battery will definitely not last as long when using the light and/or vibrate. I always keep the light on, but rarely the vibrating alert. I change the battery about once a month.
