S2000 Vs Z4
Hi,
Just had to post this. I bought my black 2001 S2000 last weekend. It is bone stock with 68000Km on the clock.
I blew off a BMW Z4 this morning. We both agreed to race at the lights and I thought it would be all over for me very quickly.
I got a perfect launch (Just a slight chirp from the tyres) and got ahead by 1.5 car lengths. By third gear I was still ahead by a car length.
I was orginally choosing between a Z3 2.8 and an S2000. Once again I'm sure I made the right choice.

the S will blow away a Z4 2.5. The 2.8 too. Now the 3.0 has similar acceleration so that is a fair match.
someone thought my S was a BMW. I said that no it wasn't and BMW copied it because this came first.

It's tough to tell with the Z4 since so many of them are sold in automatics and it's not all that easy to tell if it's the 3.0 or not unless you peep the badging.
I personally love the Z4 design. Would lower a 3.0 manual on 19" BBS LMs, add the Hartge body kit and call it a blingin', high performance day that'll make a similarly modded S2000 look somewhat bland.
(I'd still own the S2000, though)
