Default cusco st strut bar + DA mc/bb = rubbage

ok, i finally got my cusco ST front tower strut bar. i didn't think about fitment problems until i tried bolting down the driver side bolts; the bar rubs on my DA master cylinder / brake booster. i shimmed up the bar up a bit with washers, something i REALLY didn't want to do, but that's the only thing i could think of doing without having to cut the bar itself.

so my question is, does anyone know of another master cylinder cup i could use that may be angled backwards or something?

Oh crap.

I guess I'll be doing some test fitting tonight!

I was putting off even opening the package until the motor goes in.
I guess I will open it tonight just to make sure.

Cusco 40mm with an ITR MC/booster setup

Hahaahahaaaaa!!!!

I test fit mine last night.
Well, to say the LEAST I would have to use washers.
I would also have to extend the studs for the struts!

With the passanger side mounted in place, the driver side gets on the studs about one or two threads.
You can't even put the nut back on!

So, I'm going to finish up a couple other things I've started doing with the car.
After that I'll see about cutting down the master cylinder reserviour.
I think I'll be able to do it, but I have to work out all the details still.

Damn, this sucks!

damn! that's pretty much the exact same problem i'm having. the bar itself is shimmed up by a good inch worth (yea, i know ) of washers, yet i STILL get rubbing. are there any other 15/16'' master cylinder reservoirs that are thinner in size?

you could pull off the Integra junk and go back to your stock booster with a 90.91 Civic Sedan EX master cylinder. That is 15/16" and fits just like stock.

Exactly what I'm saying right now.

this is bent forward and seems like it wouldn't interfere with the larger m/c+b/b.

dang

I don't know i that would work for me.

Mine is already tilted forward a bit.

The ITR MC and booster stick out a LOT further than the stock stuff.
I'm interfering with the MC about 1/4" inch into it.

I guess I'll take pics this weekend.

So why did you get rid of the so highly acclaimed Neuspeed bar?
(Go ahead - you may kick yourself now if you wish. )

I checked my part number.
I have the ABS one so now I'm pretty much screwed for the moment.

I doubt you will have a problem. That's stock and doesn't stick out neary as far as the Integra ones.

I do have the ABS one, but it still won't clear.

I don't have stock braking components and they are in the way of the bar.
The cap of the master cylinder and probably the reseriour tank on the master cylinder are hitting the bar so badly that the bar will NOT seat against the chassis.

probably not because the m/c reservoir is smaller than a DA one.
