Default Has anyone used the Pocketlogger for the Palm Pilot??

I just found out about it tonight on one of the HT ad banners. It's a data-logger for OBD2 cars that works on your Palm Pilot. Anyone have any experience with one?

Check out this site for more info:

umm it's not just a cool "doodad" if you are a serious tuner then you need something to see what the ecu is seeing apparently you people aren't tuners and just put stuff on your car and hope it works... Man if it was only that easy, either you spend the money and be fast or you keep your piddly money and watch someone who is tuned smoke you... btw, if $175 bucks is too much for you to have your car running right how much do you think it will cost you to fix that hole in that block of your pretty ITR motor?

wow.....it was a simple question, wasn't it??

from reading the description on the site, it seems like this is only to monitor ecu functions. if that is the case, then i would say it's not worth it. if you can truly tune with this, then it would be worth it. if not, just save up a little more and get a VAFC. or save up alot more and get yourself a Power FC.

Look here you "serious tuner"/ jackass, I think I take my piddly $175 and put it toward a standalone that I can actually do something with. It would be nice, but not for $175.

haha yeah a serious tuner will have hondata or PowerFC or something. good grief man, just cause i said $250 is too much for a ******* electronic gauge package (which is ALL that datalogger is) does not mean i'm gonna blow my motor. I swear

My personal favorite: "apparently you people aren't tuners and just put stuff on your car and hope it works... "

I'd say that pretty much describes a majority of the ITR owners on this board...

I think you guys are mistaking the Pocketlogger for a tuning device.
The Pocketlogger has no way to tune anything...it just shows what information all the sensors on the car are putting out.

For the price...I think its a great buy! Try and buy all the gauges seperate and see what it would cost you....it would cost 5-6 times what the Pocketlogger costs!
Have you guys ever looked into the price of a IAT sensor! Ouch!
Also this moniters the timing, injector duty, etc etc.

I totally agree HX_Guy!

And to the kid who said "Just save up and get a VAFC"... with a VAFC you NEED either a Data-logger (with air/fuel measuring capabilities) or Dyno Tuning with a wideband O2 sensor to get the proper gains from it. You can't just plug in a VAFC and "tune" your car w/o some way to monitor the amount of air/fuel. And if you think that piece-o-**** Auto meter A/F guage is gonna cut it... Nope! I think $175 is ******* awesome for anyone who plans on doing anything other than basic bolt-ons. Using the 02 monitor, you could adjust your cam settings, fuel percentage (via a VAFC) and other stuff. I want one b/c I think it will help me tune my VAFC without having to pay an hourly rate at a dyno.

One of the tech gurus on here needs to comment, but it was my understanding that using onboard o2 sensors is nowhere near as accurate as the one at a dyno....

i'm not disputing, just saying what i understood.

Correctamundo! Stock o2 sensors aren't too accurate..... Try $1200 for a motec wideband...

Hey, at the very least, you would have the ability to perform accurate timed acceleration runs

you guys are stupid... you can look at what the ecu see's as far as timing, a/f, tons of stuff with that pocket logger and if you had a afc, or a fuel pressure regulator etc.. then you could tune your car but apparently you guys don't tune.. like I said before you must just put stuff on and hope it works
