squeeking clutch slave cylinder
Ok so I heard this squeeking noise every time i depress the clutch, whether in neutral or in gear. I thought it was coming from the clutch hose in the front of the engine bay. Turns out I searched more and its coming from the clutch slave cylinder. I just felt the vibration outside that rubber boot that covers it. Im hoping the clutch slave cylinder isnt going, can I just lube it up with some white lithium grease maybe? Anyone else have any suggestions, or should I tak the boot off and examine it in detail.
Also - is it ok for me to drive with it making this noise. The car shifts and drives fine its just that this annoying squeek. Thanks.
EDIT - someone said maybe there is air in it, I bled the clutch maybe 50 miles ago and it was fine, but it only takes a few min to bleed it again if this could potentially help.

Try peel back the rubber cover for the slave cylinder and put a healthy doze of grease on the cylinder shaft and have someone else press the clutch pedal a few times making sure the shaft is well lubricated.
There was a thread a while ago with an SiR having this problme and was fixed in this manner.

Go get some grease that's used for caliper piston seals. Don't use white lithium.
Here's what I did on my '95...
Take off the slave cylinder from the tranny; also unbolt the bracket for the hydraulic line.
The push-rod that comes out from the slave isn't really attached to the actual piston. You can pull off that rubber bellows & the push-rod, but the piston stays in the slave cylinder.
Put some grease around the piston, in the bore of the cylinder.
Put some more grease on the push-rod that you took out, inside the bellows.
Use normal multi-purpose grease at the round end of the push-rod, where it hits the throw-out fork. Maybe you can get some into the throw-out fork's pivot ball, too.

well after reading and searching
I greased up the shaft of the slave cylinder with some grease along with the spot where it hits the throw out fork. Still squeek/creaking. I didnt take it off though I just moved the boot around to get it in. Plenty of people did it this way and said it works.
I may try to pack it with more grease tomorrow.
