Default In car two person radios - Where to buy?

Down at VIR an instructor of mine had a little radio that you slid the earpiece up under your helmet(which had the mic connected to it).. both ran to a little battery powered unit so that you could talk to one another.. was perfect, since my BC3 is so loud..

can anyone tell me where I can get this item? thanks!

I use the chatterbox unit, I bought it from HMS Motorsport.

All the rest of them suck, IMO.

chatterboxen suck too. I've replaced 2 chatterbox headsets in two years. they do suck less than nadys. only a little less though.

the only non-sucking choices cost hundreds of dollars. they are intended for pro rally applications.

I have the "Full Face Mic & Headset" installed in my helmet, with the box mounted on the side of the helmet along with a student headset. No fuss for me, I just plug in the student headset and its on.

I've had to tape the connections of the Mic to the ear peice on my student headset (it would tend to wander out), but other than that its held up great. The sound quality is better than anything else I've used.

Edit: Sparco sells a communicator system thats pretty reasonable (can get it through Primm) but I knew that the chatterbox was a decent product and in stock, so I ordered that one.

I use this communicator from J C Whitney catlogue. Works fine for me. Inexpensive and easy to shove under the helmet than chatterbox IMO.
