Default Yoko A032R's

on a street driven vehicles assuming that i rotate every 3000 miles and drive somewhat hard but not to the point of beating the hell out of them how many miles could one epxect to get out of a set? If i could get 15k id be willing to spend the dough even 10k might still make it worth it but much less than 10k and its getting to be too much money for street tires. id get the Azenis but they dont make them in my size

wow that's amazing...and you daily drove on them also?

streets of willow turn 3 is very bad for the front right tire...that's what eventually corded mine.

no drag for me tho.

A friend of mine used to go through two sets of the soft compound a summer, daily driving with a few track days a year.

These were 235's on a RWD vehicle though, so YMMV

some of the Honda's are very light and will get more mileage out of a tire because they aren't loaded as much.

I had a set of the 032's on a 92 DX HB and they lasted about 10K with a track event and lots of autox

on my IS300 I would be lucky to see 10K

FYI, they are pretty damn loud

i was thinking about the S-03's in 225/50/15 or the Azenis or yoko's but if i went with the yoko's id have to go with 205/50/15

i dont even see how anyone could get anywhere near 30k out of those tires

these would be going on my MX6 btw which i dont think weighs much more than most hondas but of course it does have a heavier 2.5 V6 over the front wheels

any feedback on the toyo ra-1?

IMO, you will never find a better set of street and occasional track tires than Azenis...I've had mine since Nov. 03, and they've done 8 track days, all my daily driven miles...and are now on my new daily driver still going strong...LOVE THEM.

but remember this is all subjective/relative.
its tough to say when a tire has reached its point of being bad.... everyone has different criteria

my Yoko AO32R's were pretty hard after 10-12k of street use with only one trckschool and maybe up to a dozen autocrosses.

Theres really no reason you shouldnt run them daily, even if you get less than 10k, thats more than ANY decent motorcycle tire, with those your talkin less than 8k...you only gotta replace 2 or even 1 though and they are generally cheaper...but if your a baller go for it.

yeah but it generally takes a lot longer to rack up 8k on a bike than it does on a car. i started driving my MX6 around the middle of january at 179 its now getting close to 190 ... that would suck to have to replace a set of summer tires basically every year. i guess one of these days i will probably splurge and just buy a set then i guess if they gripped as good as they should i may get addicted

and where in the hell do they sell those tires? that top one the RS-V04 is a sick looking tire

There's a guy here with an R34 GT-R who does targa tas regulary, and he swapped from the Yokos (They could have been A048's) to Dunlop Formula R because youre only allowed one set of tyres for the whole rally, and if you use two, you have to carry the other set of wheels in your car and are penalised. He said that the Yokos were shagged at the end of the last stages, but he cant take the penatly of swapping tires. He said Dunlops had a little better grip AND much better life and were still ok in the last stages.

Mind you this is for 100% flat out driving, so it may be different.

I'm really interested in finding a an R compound that lasts.. and so far I havent found much evidence and will just have to find out myself.

You're forgetting that these tires sound like superswampers at any speed.

At 25mph its "loud", at 50mph there's a horrendous "whine" and then past that it there's a drone that gets louder and louder and louder. They scream @ 120mph.

Really, when talking about competition tires, who really cares? When I'm looking for a tire, regardless if it's street use or autox use, road noise isn't on my criteria list for a good tire. Just turn the radio up.

Purchase some Toyo RA1's, they last just as long, quiter and almost as good as 032R's in the wet at full tread dept.

Heh... I do have a radio, and an interior, but no A/C. Was an option on the '89 model year Integra. It gets pretty warm this time of year, but I make do.

Toyo RA-1s vs Azenis? As far us dry grip what do you guys think. I'm in the market for some summer tires as well. Do you think the A032R has more dry grip than RA-1s or Azenis?
