need a way to test the stroke of a shock absorber/damper - work out rubbing
G'day!
I'm currently trying to work out an issue of rubbing on the Drivers side rear wheel and want to know if any guys out there have any input for testing this ****.
-------------------
Problem:
In hard corners turning left, bump steer in the rear causes the Drivers side Rear to rub. At this stage, I haven't identified if it's rubbing against the arch but it rubs. I do not get rubbing on bumpsteer in Passenger Rear on hard right.
(I've tried numberous test for consistency )
-------------------
Setup:
Coil over
F 10kg R 6k
Zeal S6
FrontR+L 610mm Rear passenger = 620mm Rear Driver = 627mm (sorry in metric) Height from Level ground to centre of wheel arch.
Wheels are a 205/50/16 - but they are 215 in width DJ-01
--------------------
Summary:
My senses are telling me that the stroke in the rear is softer or there is more roll in the rear driver. This is "only" in a hard corner. Small bumps/speedhumps etc do not cause rubbing and still feels quite stiff and bumpy.... normal.
The feeling is, that in a corner it holds the stance then suddenly dips that extra bit in the rear driver and gives a bit of extra oversteer.
I think I'm starting to imagine things but I'd rather back this up with hard facts and am willing to test to find out if my senses are right, so I want some ideas on what can be done/checked!! I want to check this out before I have the DC2R corner weighted.
Advice appreciated!!
