Sweet Virgin R spotted at Triad Auto
I was picking up some parts Tuesday and Triad had a black ITR with 5,000 on the OD on the lift doing an HPDE tech (drool). It looked like it had been in a zip-lock bag for the last 4 years! The owner is going to track it (like God intended) at VIR next weekend.

I had the same thought. If this car ends up against the armco I'll have to go for a long walk in the woods to mourn!

If enough people unnecessarily sweat it, yes.
I feel the same way about most things popular culture. I guess I'm just disturbed like that.

If you have the faintest notion that you're going to be able to convince Apocalypse Chris to be diplomatic about anything, you might as well investigate your company's insurance policy psychiatric care right now.

Its just a car. A very good car, but just a car.
I, like Chris, snicker over all the BS that goes behind mourning the loss of them. If you think Alain DeCadenet Jr. will be doing VBDs about this car 40 years from now you are delusional. Its a really nice $25000 Integra. Thats it.
Proof that its nuthin' special... RJ has one.
Scott, who says just shut up and drive the ******* thing.

Its a blast. If you're not driving it, you're missing out.
RJ - who has 6,000+ street miles and 2200+ track miles on his car already

You know--I use to think the same thing. However, what happens 30 years from now when the 18 year old high school ricer is a 48 year old businessman and he decides that he wants to relive a bit of his youth.
If there is a 20K mile type R in good condition, you can bet your *** that he's going to buy it--and for a good price. I mean, Transformers from the 1980's are bringing mega $$ from 30 somethings now who want to get a piece of their childhood back.
And the Type R is the best and rarest FWD honda, hands down. Put it into perspective and you never know what will be on the history channel in 30 years....

Overrated, underpowered and ill-handling. Only throwing me the keys for a while will convince me otherwise...
PS-thank you poSEuR for that line

You are welcome to give it a flogging on sunday, we should be doing fun runs (or just take it out for one of yours)
RJ - returning the favor

And I don't see 30 somethings playing with transformers, yet they still pay a huge amnount for them on ebay. It's not about using the car--it's about owning it.

Why not?
Why not?
48 year old men like air conditioning.
edit: this actually touches on a very good conversation my dad and I had. He asked me what my generation would be collecting in 30 years and I really couldn't answer him. The best I could come up with (other than my personal favorite) was that I don't see any cars these days that I look at with the same lust that my dad looked at '67 Vette. There's no such thing as "classic" cars anymore and no matter how limited the run, making a specific amount of Integras isn't going to make them a collectors piece. I'm certain there are plenty of R owners who hope I'm wrong.
