Help - Exhaust header fit for ITR motor swap into GSR with stock gsr cat and exhaust
Just like topic says:
Putting in a type R longblock in 4-door GSR and I am planning to get some type of header and eventually an aftermarket exhaust for the swap.
I would like to get the headers first and run the car for a while with the stock GSR exhaust and cat if possible.
Will most headers bolt right up to the flange on the GSR cat? Will the exhaust need to be modified to make this happen?
Or, If I simply buy an aftermarket exhaust now, will the cat length and flanges be correct without any mods?

When I first got my swap, I think I had a stock b16 exhaust manifold on there (or maybe from the integra LS), and used the stock eg cat/exhaust and it bolted right up.
But before I went to the smog place to get ref'd I went on the classifieds and bought a stock gsr exhaust manifold, cat, and exhaust, it all bolted up just fine on my 94 hatch. So for your application a stock GSR exhaust manifold will fit just fine. I would imagine any header made to fit the GSR would fit also.

That sounds almost too easy to be true
I guess that the exhaust manifold bolt / orifice pattern is the same on any b16 or b18c head....

Yeah it is, people usually just rig them up different so that they dont have to buy all new stuff right away.
