Default Transmission Mount (4th Gen)

(4th gen-1992 Si) when swapping from an H23A automatic transmission to a JDM h22a 5 speed do you need to change transmission mounts? I have talked to a local guy who does engine swaps and other things and he seems to think that you have to cut the bracket off the frame and weld on another one? is this true? I always have thought that if its the same block than the mounts hsould line up perfect, maybe he was talking about and f22 to h22 swap, anyways after i looked at it thought the mount is on the tranny and that he may be right. Did anyoen who has done this swap do that? He also thinks that the gauge cluster has to be changed, but i have seen people who have done the swap that didnt change the cluster? Any help would be very much appreciated. TY

Also im thinking about dropping the transmission off of the engine before we pull the engine since we cant take it out the bottom. IF we pull the trans out the bottom it would give us alot more room to ge tthe engine out without having to fight it. Is this a good idea or not? Please respond

the steel mount in the bay is fine...you may need to change the actual mount and get one for a manual but you don't need to weld anything
