nope, not that I'm aware of, just bought a y7 and put it into an ef, and there was no ks on the back of the motor before I put it in.

none of the d-series or b-series i'm pretty sure came equipped with a knock sensor. the sensor was mainly more important for h22/23's. i know the wiring harness for my d16 didn't have a connector for a knock sensor and there was no evidence of there ever being one. i'm not sure about f-series engines(except maybe the s2k) but i know for a fact that all h22/23 had them and none of the d-series did.

Here's a how-to from a friend of mine's website. Same for a d-series so just follow his info.: http://www.diyracing.com/ls_vtechowto.html. The only diffence is you won't have a bracket to drill, but there is a place for the sensor, just drill and tap it.

I know for a FACT that the y7 didn't come with a ks and a y8 did. I did a mini-me and had to purchase the knock sensor. Just go obd1, thats what I'm doin, save yourself money and go obd1 right off the bat.

When you awnser a question, please don't bother if you don't know what your talking about. the y7 does not have a knock sensor, the y8 does.

Sorry, but I knew the Y8 had a knock sensor, therefore I assumed that the Y7 had one as well. Sorry for the mix-up.
