I've heard rumors that a spoon style ABS lip exists for the 5th gen civics. Does anyone know if this is true, if so point me in that direction. I've got a "mugen" lip now that needs to be replaced. Thanks

JDM **** makes one for EGs, but it's called the Mugen V2 lip. It looks very Spoon-ish, though. It is ABS plastic. I believe Newman said he'll be making a fiberglass Spoon-style soon. Do a search. He made a big thread about it that should still be lurking around.

 

yea i just got a spoon abs last night from jdmcarboy on here.. its a really nice piece but i think its the same as the jdmshit one..
spoon like but the bottom middle doesnt thin out like the spoon does.. so its like a spoon mugen mix.
either way its a nice lip.. i just dont like the way it mounts on my car.. i dont know if i just mounted it wrong but its fits perfect mounted with the flap laying on the lip of the grill.. but it doesnt hang very low (my car also has no engine so its lifted in the front)
i think im going to cut the flap or figure out a way to mount it like the jdmshit or vis under the bumper.

if you look you can see it sits above the grill.. i dontknow if i like that or not.. i still have to adjust it cause the middle isnt mounted at all and the way the sides are attached it kinda points up.. but thats just can i put it on really quick..
the way it mounts its only like 1.5 inches longer than a stock bumper.. which is good if you slam your car so it wont rip off, and doesnt look like a tizightt ricer lip.. but ifi cut the flap and mount it like the jdmshit or vis lips itll be like .5 inch down more..
but it was a really good fit and its a quality product. i recommend jdmcarboy 's stuff

 

Yeah, the way it's mounted now is like how the Mugen lip mounts to EKs. I like lips that mount to the underside of bumpers like Spoon, VIS, OEM SiR, etc.

where are the mounting points on your lip?

 

i only mounted it on the sides. like the wheel well area. i didnt mount the ceneter at all by the grill.. im going to work it alittle this weekend i just was eager to throw it onto see how good the fitment was..
fitment was real tight.. but thats good cause it makes it fit right when you actually get it on..

 

That thing looks exactly like my mugen one, or at least very similar. I guess there is no point in buying one if it is almost like the one I've already got.

 

Why wont anyone make a abs spoon lip for the egs? If they do someone needs to post a sticky because tons of people want that lip in abs including me

what the hell... heres my pic. this is what jdmshit calls "mugen v2" it looks more like a dc2 spoon lip then an actual eg spoon lip. Newman from jdmshit said the abs spoon lip is being test fitted at the moment. so my guess is they should be out sometime soon.

well these are all the same lip. mine and jdm ****.. from the same manafacturer in tiawan. and inside the lip is labeled 92-95 spoon style lip
