Default no front drop with prokit/koni yellows?! (rears dropped 1")

I had a local garage install a set of koni yellows and eibach pro-kits on my '99 Civic Si/Ex (it's a Canadian Si which means a US Ex, I assume). When I picked it up the ride height in the front had not changed at all! The rear's dropped about 1" as expected but the front did not change at all. In fact, I think the passenger side might even be a few mm higher!

When I went to pick up the car I couldn't talk to any of the mechanics so I don't know if they think this is normal. I called Eibach and they told me to check the part numbers and make sure they're installed right side up and the fronts in front and the rears in the back. Unfortunately, without jacking the car up I wasn't able to see the part numbers at all.

I suppose the spring perches on the Koni shocks might be upside down... but does that cause a 1" difference in height? From looking at the shocks, it looks like all the perches are in the "stock" position (top perch in front, middle in the rear). I suppose, if this is normal for the prokit springs, I can lower the front perch... but it seems strange that the spring wouldn't lower at all - keep in mind I've measured this with a ruler, the ride height could not have changed more than a 1/4".

I've done a search but I didn't find anybody with the same problem. I saw threads about uneven drops but nothing about no drop at all.

Anyways, I thought I'd post on here just in case anyone might have some ideas. I don't really want to pay a garage more money to lower the koni perch... and since I live in an apartment without a garage, doing it myself isn't an option. If anybody can think of anything, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

thanks,

Just in case anyone else ever hits this problem...

I just talked to Koni and it looks like the front perches are upside down - I should've paid more attention to this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=812377 Now I've gotta convince the mechanic that he put the perches on upside down and get him to flip them back.

I'm interested as well. Have Eibach Pro Kit springs sitting on garage floor waiting for install. Front struts are out. Rears aren't coming out...too much pressure onto lower arm. One of the threads suggested to a del Sol owner to remove the lower arm...is that my solution too for my '91 Si?

Do the springs need to settle? I know teins appear high at first and then settle, maybe eibach does too.

Yes, if your not using a spring compressor, unbolt the LCA and the shock will come out. Thats the only way with out a compressor.

Sorry for the late reply - I never realized that anyone replied to this thread.

Everything worked out great - the mechanic flipped the front perches and the car is now about 1.4" lower all around. Well, it's slightly higher on the passenger side but not really noticeable.

The difference between stock and this setup is like night and day. It feels amazing on the auto-x track. On the highway, with the Koni's on their softest setting, it doesn't feel too much stiffer than stock.
