Problem with acceleratoin - feels like I'm running out of gas
I have a 2002 AV6 4door 50k miles with comptech supercharger (high boost kit) headers, cat-back, tranny cooler. Been running it for a year now and no real big problems. I was never entirely impressed with the power gains after spending North of $5,000.
Currently, I am noticing problems when I accelerate. Anything under 4000 RPM seems to be a very weak pull and sometimes bogs down when I hit the gas. Then at about 3700 RPM it studders a bit, then at 4100 RPM studders again and then is smooth all the way to red-line until it shifts to the next gear when I feel this lag/studder/bog again.
I have been on the phone with Comptech's lead guy and he had me check the ESM voltage, connections, pulley and belt tightness, pulled the fuel pump for a visual on the filter. I have found nothing. Its like driving around with the A/C on non stop.
I have read through a few forums and Im starting to wonder about my catalytic converter or EGR. I have no CEL indicator however and before I drop $200 on an OBDII code reader, I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this problem. One other observation is that when Im letting off the gas sometimes, thats when the engine has a moment of clarity and clears up. Sounds messed, I know, but thats why Im asking for help. Im a bit dumbfounded on this one.

maybe your MAP sensor is goin on the fritz...could be that its cutting the engine short of the fuel that it needs sometimes. just a thought.
Yes, Possible. The comptech dude kept emphasising that ESM unit be connected properly. That is the unit that modifies the MAP sensor signal. I will run that one by him tomorrow.

I would've said the same thing. I'd take a supercharged V6 engine over a H22 any day.

welcome to honda-tech.com, while your comment to me doesn't really means anything.

supercharged v6 would make for more problems than an h22a... and also you can convert to a 5 spd for cheaper than with the CL-S 6 spd. 5000 into the setup... you could have sold the v6... bought the h22a and tranny with the money...then dumped 5000 into a turbocharger setup... and come out with much better gains
but its all up to how much a person is willing to do and all that.
