what is your defanition of "bumped"? you prabaly need to calabrate it. The reading should be ~.5 volts at idle and ~4.5 volts at WOT on the RED/BLUE wire.

that would do it, the TPS won't do that. I can run mine without a TPS and it runs fine, it just has a CEL but that's it. I have a B16a in a CRX, and distributor problems are really the only thing that'll do that. Unless you had a chipped ECU and the chip went limp mode. That's happened to me too. Was your car a DX before or an Si? If it was a Dx, check your wiring.
This happened to me the other day, bounced off 3k like the rev limiter, I was told it was either the dizzy or crank angle sensor. Luckily when I turned it off and back on it didn't do it again. So most likely it was the distributor and mines about to go bad.
the alternator might be loose my buddy's b17a hatch the bolts on the alternator to hold it in place were loose and it would not drive fasted than 35 and rev over 4k.
let me know what works... i have a b16a in a crx dx and i am having the exact same problems. 3000 rpms seems like i have a rev limiter. I just bought a new pr3 ecu that is chipped. I'll see if that helps but it might just be the dizzy. let me know how it goes if you replace the dizzy. Matrix_zero@hotmail.com
My friend had the same problem i am having and he swapped the ecu and it worked for him. I'm gonna replace the dizzy next week if the ecu doesn't fix things. I'll keep you posted.

and still the ECU code?
Check wiring to the distributor.

Here is the wiring colors for a pr3 ecu. You are correct though. Let us know how it goes.
