Default WTF- Garrett makes different size 5-bolt T3 exhaust housings????

I bought a SS gasket from roadraceengineering.com for my exhaust flange. The turbo was purchased on Ebay a ways back (and advertised as a T3 60 trim). The gasket came today, and look how pissed I was:

I called them up - the guy whom I spoke with said that Garrett makes different sized 5 bolt turbine housings....I was like - WTF?

Needless to say, the gasket is going back, but this just pisses me off.....

I had the same problem, had to have one designed in CAD and diamond cut. PITA.

Garrett has two T3 5-bolt housings, Ford and Chrysler/Mercedes Benz. Every turbo manufacturer in the U.S. uses the Ford housing. Looks like you have the Chrysler housing.

Haha, join the club. Do you at least have a flange for that thing? I had to go get one made since NOBODY knew what the hell kind of flange I needed. The downpipe I ordered came with the damn flange that's the size of your gasket right there welded to it. Needless to say I wasn't happy. I ended up having to go to a machine shop to have one made. Bunch of bullshit.

Yea you can either have a flange custom made or buy the Ford housing.

**** that option - I'm not going to buy another housing because the gasket is wrong. My downpipe flange is correct to this...I just need a new gasket.

The downpipe flange is very slightly warped, which means (to those of you who say not to run with one) that I will have a leak if I don't use anything.

Where does one get a gasket "cut" out of such thin metal - this was SS btw....

spray some copper on it and smash that ****** shut...the carbon build-up will stop the leak in a few days....if you're tuned a tad rich like I am anyway.

1) Have the downpipe flange milled.

2) Throw it on a belt sander and "mill" it yourself.

3) Go to a craft store and get a sheet of copper. Cut with tin snips.
