Default Extracting Stock CD Player Code From A Civic

I'm putting in a new cd player, I haven't taken the battery off yet. I'm wondering how I go about taking the code off the stock cd player. tha car is a 2000 Civic Ex. I searched but couldn't come up with anything.

when you go to the dealership they wont have the code on record unless the car was bought there. so having the serial# off of the unit is the best thing.
