Yeah i have read that 2, but thats not my question. in that write up they used a 96 odb2a head, which i know would work fine. my question is if i use a 99-00 y8 which is obd2b with all obd2a stuff will it work, i hope this makes it clear

a mini-me is using a d series vtec head on a non vtec block.

secondly, you should be able to use the obd2b head just fine as long as you use obd2a sensors (since im not sure if the plugs are different. i dont think that they are. i think that just the ecu plugs are different.)

So what you are saying is that as long as i use all of the same plugs and dizzy and stuff i should be good. when you say the ecu plugs are different i take it you mean between the obd2"a" and "b". now i want to use the Obd2a ecu(p2p) i think it should work but i just wanted to dubble check. Any other info would be greatly excepted, also if you have done this beofer let me know

I'm pretty sure u have to match the ecu to the head, so u would need a 99-00 EX ecu with the 99-00 EX head

Uh no, you match the ecu and distributor to the car year.

Mini me on 92-95: p28 ecu and obd1 dizzy
Mini me on 96-98: 96-98 p2p ecu and 96-98 dizzy
Mini me on 99-00: 99-00 p2p ecu and 99-00 dizzy
