Default Help with buying a 4th Gen.

Hello Luders,

I'm looking at a 1993 SI w/ stock motor and about 92,000 miles on it.

It was recently repainted, had brakes replaced, timing belt changed.

It has a Kaminari lip kit I believe.

I checked KBB private party value and got $5,070. The guy selling it is asking $6,300.

Two (2) questions for you guys.

1) How much should I offer him?

2) The SI's comes with a h23 correct? (I'm too lazy to search)

P.S. - It's an automatic. ( Yeah I know, but I'm buying it for my wife )

I have no idea how much to offer him for it. But yes it comes with the H23A1.
For that kind of money you might be able to find a 4th gen Vtec...

if its for your wife, dont get a modded prelude. Just get a stock one with no bodykit etc...but if thats what you want go for it...i think you should offer 5500 considering if it has a decent body with no major issues with anything. Get his VIN and get a history report on the car.

good luck

I think you should buy this one with the stock motor in it.

I would never buy a car that was owned by a younger person that modded it. Most likely, that car has been beat on. But that's just me.

I recommend looking for one that has not been modded. There is a greater chance it wasn't beat on. Especially since your wife will be driving it.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the reply guys, I'm gonna take my time and look for a VTEC model instead.

Anthony: I'll only buy your car w/ the current motor that's in it.
