see if you can get your insurance under your parents..... that will help alot.

also, you could raise your deductible to $1000(if you haven't already), that may get your premium down to a more reasonable price.

if all else fails... sell it, its just a car. Thats what i did.
g2's are way more affordable

try mercury or even calling geico. Insurace is generally not going to be cheap if you are under 25 years of age.

6000 a year? whOa that's a lot. For a GSR? Damn. I know you're 19 and all but still... wtf. Never heard of such ridiculous numbers. Definitely go under your parents for now.

check this website to see what JD Powers thinks:

http://www.jdpower.com/cc/auto...s.jsp for collision repair ratings.

I do have to say that site is correct. I just went through a claim process with state farm (not my provider) and they gave me 4200 + salvage for my 88 crx just this year. I did have to be a bastard and fight them a bit though.... but when the fat lady sang I received more back than what I paid for the car. SUCKERS!!! muahaha

If your car is paid off you can remove the "collision" from your policy and keep the "comprehensive" (which covers theft, very important to have that if you drive a GSR!) I did that and my rate went down about 33%, from 150 to 100 a month with my MR2 on the policy also. (State Farm).
Yeah, you'r out of luck if you wreck your car, but if you just got in a fender bender how much higher is the damage gonna be above the 1000 deductible? In the cases I've seen then only end up paying a few hundred dollars.

haha Ive got a totaled car on my record, red light ticket and just got a 97 in a 50 speeding ticket and I pay 450 a month and I thought that was bad. You are 19 but you shouldn't be paying that with a clean record.

Well then just try raising the deductible to 1000. I've always been told that you can't go above 500 if you're making payments on the car, but I've done 1000 every time and no one's the wiser. I know some banks require you to periodically send in proof of insurance though, as long as you don't have to do that you should be good to go.

Wow, thats seriously amazing. I have a 96 gsr 2 door, I'm 23, no points, no accidents ( a few claims) and I only pay 80 a month. SUCKERS!!!!! State farm is who I use.

I think you need to change companies asap.

if your name is not listed on the policy at all and you live w/him, you could get in a lot of trouble for you not being listed and they may make you go back and pay what you should have paid to be covered.

this is a common insurance rate for people under 25 getting their own insurance anywhere close to nyc.......white plains might as well be nyc for insurance purposes
my recommendation, take a defensive driver course....cost like $45 bucks, and that will take %10 off your insurance, lowering your monthly payments by about $50 to $60. then keep your record clean, and renew early with your insurance company. Each year it should get better.........hopefully

I have a friend; he's 20 and just got a gsr; he's paying $450 a month with Allstate; you might want to try them. Good luck and bite the bullet

****, are you serious?! 500 dollars a month is insane, I pay 700 every six, full coverage.
save money on your car insurance by switching to Geico.
