some pics of my current Full Race cage in my streetcar

note the lower left hand corner of the pic, the main hoop is actaully 4 different tubes and 4 plates

another shot of how the mainhoop ties into the unibody

the X goes from the mainhoop to the shock towers to stabilize, the downbars go from the mainhoop to frame rails to stiffen

Looks like you will have to cut those rear braces off, and take them down to the shock towers where the X's come to. It's to many mounting points for NASA at least!
Also, as RJ mentioned. That main hoop should be ONE PIECE, and everthing else should hook to that!

we are an NHRA cert'd shop, and SFI approved for 25.5. We know how to build roll cages.
If you can explain why a 1 piece main hoop is superior, i would love to hear. This cage is not for NASA. it is for driving fast.

That ^^^ makes me want to buy from him. It means that he is someone who wholeheartedly loves driving his car. I'd rather buy from a guy who has a cage in his own car how he wants it (who will build a cage for you/me that will conform to NASA rules) then some douche who just knows how to read a rule boox. It seems that his main concern for HIS car (not for yours) is going fast, and I like that.

That is not what I was saying, I was just saying that it would not conform to the rules for NASA. It's cool though, because your not playing around in a NASA race!
I would still have built it to NASA/NHRA specs because it would be easier to sell if you wanted to down the line!
Don't get me wrong, it looks clean! I was just making an observation!

Full cages don't really belong in street cars my friend!
I'm sure he can defend himself just fine!

from a guy recommending fryfab, i find it difficult to take your comments seriously. We recently cut one of his cages out of a customer's car (a very high profile honda customer) to put a proper cage in place. If the topic of this thread is fab shops in the area, is it ok for me to post something in that thread? Even if you dont approve?

thank you sir. here is a picture of our racecar cage. There is no need to tell me that this is not a street car cage. This is not a NASA cage either, so i dont need to be reminded of that.

I never built this cage with the intent of selling it. I will never produce a cage like this for production, its too hard for 99% of people to weld properly, and its overkill. This cage is the most protective cage i could deal with in my street civic. Full cages belong in street cars if you want a full cage in your street car. If you can explain to me why my street car, which hauls *** around mountain passes with no guard rails, and 70 foot cliffs, should not have a cage, let me know.
This thread started as a question about people in socal or az that build cages. When you guys can fabricate a better cage, then come on here and tell me how its done.
Thanks

I used to do that. Back when I was invincible. But now I'm not. Sucks. BTW nice cages! Great work.

I don't see why people even question Full-Race's work. It is by far some of the cleanest and well designed. It may not be NASA/HC approved, but it's not made for that...get off their nuts. Someone is asking about cage builders, and they are one of the best

i dont think anyone was questioning the quality of thier work, just pointing out where it wasnt to specs that met club racing. this is road racing forum, so i think the road racers were a little unsettle with all the drag racing cages and wierd comments.
for good work though
