Default LSD talk, fitment and differences

First question, would a Quaife Differential fit in any Kseries tranny(A2 or A3) or would there be some modifications involved? Second, whats the difference between the Quaife and CTR or ITR LSD? TIA.

I have Spoon 1.5 Way LSD installed on my K20A2, you will need the DC5R final gear to install LSD.

I'm guessing that the Quaife would be a better pick then the DC5R LSD , both are helical (require less maintanence then a clutch type) , as long as you can throttle while you exit corner w/o inside wheel spin i guess it does its purpose

Thanks for the info, so I need the final drive for the Quaife or ITR install? Can anyone confirm this? I read a thread just now (doing research) and someone installed an ITR LSD and he did not mention the final drive.

Quaife is good. It is a Torsen type LSD. So far, I heard that there is not a need to switch FD to fit the LSD into the tranny. I would suspect the Spoon piece needs the ITR FD, because Spoon caters to the K20A more than they do to the K20A2...which has a lower FD.

you don't need the FD, people do them in the same time to save the trouble from doing it later.
