q about boosting a stock motor

i was wondering if its really necessary to get an egt gauge a stock motor if your turboing the motor

you need to get it tuned when you boost it. If it is tuned well, no egt is required. A wideband o2 is another accurate option.

egt is handy. You can decifer a lot of information just from the temperature of your exhaust. No, you don't "need" it, but it is a nice thing to have if you are boosting.
