Default Build Up the Top Or Bottom End First?

My setup is 93 B16a Sir2- Aem cai, Jdm Dc 4-1, 2.5 Exhaust, Hi-flow cat, skunk2 P28, Y21 trans + act stage2 clutch. I have about $1800 to spend, for the top-end I want to run ITR cams, valve springs, skunk2 gears, mugen gasket, mild p&p. For the bottom-end I want to run a 94-95 B18c1 block with Jdm ITR pistons, arp studs botls, new oem bearings, oil pump etc… TIA

I agree. I'd build the bottom first.

Why go to forged pistons when he can just go with the quality and reliability of an OEM piston, for cheaper, as it seems that he is on a budget and probably has price in mind? He's already gonna have as high of compression as he will need to make good power that that setup. Build the bottom first IMO.

I called up a shop in Glendora today. They can do a full LS-Vtec swap with Jdm Itr pistons, arp studs and bolts, all new bearings, all new seals, labor, and the block for $2200. Is this a good deal? How much reliability would I lose if I went with an ls-vtec setup vs a Poor Man’s ITR setup?

resleeve the b16 2.0 and buy some pistons. you mite have money left over for some cams. but the gsr block thing isnt too bad of an idea either.
