94-95 taillights on 96 accord?
I am planning on shaving my trunk & i want to get rid of the lights mounted on the trunk. Will the lights from a 94-95 accord fit the same mounting on a 96 accord, & i know i have to do some re-wiring.
I don't think so. The reason I say no is because I know that the 94-95 trunk lids were different from the 96-97 trunk lids. Not only because of the lights on the 96-97 but, if I remember correctly, the shape was different as well. Thats why people with 96-97 wanting to get rid of the inside lights can't just swap to 94-95 trunk lids. So I don't think you can, but maybe someone else has some proof if it will or won't.
the reason i bought the 96 was because of the taillights, i didn't like the 94-95 style..........why wouldn't u just buy a 94-95 to begin with?
all i want to find out is how to shave the license plate

Listen man, if you like the tails off of the 94-95, here is what i think you should do.
Take the lights out of the trunk lid but leave the lights that are in the quarter panels. Im sure you can find some metal clips that will fill the space where the trunk lid lights used to be, and have it molded and painted.

i bought a 96 coupe cause it was in much better shape than any other 5th gen i've been looking for. I like the jaguar style lights for the 94-95 accords and would like to put them on. I can't just shave the lights on the trunk & leave the ones on the quater panel because i wouldnt have a reverse light, only blinker & brake. i just want to make sure that its the same size & has the same curvature of the 96 quater panel lights, the mountings i can always mess around with.
do you have any friends or someone that has a 94-95? If so, just remove one of their taillights and test it. It's not hard to remove the taillights, so if can find someone just try it.
You're gonna spend all this money on an aesthetics upgrade
By the time its all done you'll probably spend about half of what an H would cost
Save your money and get something that will do something for your car rather then making it look like its an older model

What are the specs of your car? I have a 94 Accord EX sedan (black w/gray leather) I'd consider trading with you if you hate the 96-97 lights so much. I'm in NY too so we're local to each other.

To each their own! I say go for it, just dont spend crazy money..
AND my guess is that the older tail light will fit right in, all you will have to do is wire the reverse and get an older style trunk lid.

The 94-95 trunk lid won't work. It's been tried before, can't remember by who but I remember someone tried and it didn't work.

alright im not gonna get rid of my car & i dont hate the lights. I prefer having smaller lights in the back & its an cheaper install to do the 94-95 lights. The lights will run me $50 from ebay & my friend will shave & paint my trunk for me for material cost. i have heard plenty of times that the lids dont fit & it seems that way to me too. No one i know has a 94-95 accord to which i can test this on so if any of you do then help me out, i know that the mountings are a bit different but like i said that's not a problem that i cant fix, or try at least.
SINCE WHEN DOES THE ******* ACCORD SECTION TAKE QUESTIONS LIKE THIS SERIOUSLY? RICE RICE RICE, ALTEZZA TAILLIGHTS, SHAVED TRUNKS...THIS IS AN APPERANCE AND COSMETIC QUESTION...MODS, WHERE YOU AT?
