Default JDM Carbon Fiber Lip - Install

Can anyone shed some light on what kind of parts I need to put this lip on? I heard the lip is prone to cracking. What are some specific screws, straps, tape(?), and whatever else I need to put this on? Do these come pre-cut with the holes already or do I have to drill them out? Thanks.

I'll assumethe lip does NOT have holes predrilled, so you will have to do that. The method I used (which isn't necessarily correct, this is totally uneducated DIY) was to hold the lip up under the bumper how it would sit when mounted, scratch or mark with a pen/pencil through the holes in the bumper onto the inside of the lip. Make pilot holes with a small drill bit on these marks (on the lip, not the bumper), then redrill with progressively bigger bits. These holes will probably need a little work as you go along, but that should be a good start.

Your bumper should have clips for bolts in the bottom, if not, you can either order some from Acura/Honda (probably expensive), or just get matched bolts, nuts, and washers (should be two washers for each bolt). If you do have the clips, pry one out without breaking the bumper and take it to Home Depot and match a bolt to it. Make sure it's long enough to go through the lip and have a washer in between the bolthead and the lip (if clips are present you only need one washer per bolt).

After you have all the bolts and the holes drilled, turn the bumper upside down (removing it is easiest) and line up the lip as it will be mounted. Starting from the inside, work the bolts in. You'll probably have to modify the drilled holes a little for the final fitment here. After the main holes are done, drill pilot holes on the ends through the lip and through the bumper, then use sheet metal screws and a washer to secure it.

One last thing, for the bolts under the bumper, I suggest going with hexhead as opposed to phillips or straight, as that should be just a little more difficult for thieves to get off.
