Heatshield around cat

One of the corners of my heatshield broke of so i cant bolt it on right. Now it makes the annoying rattle im thinking about just takin it off, any reason why i shouldnt?? What might this affect

Thats pretty warm under there buddy. We are talking a lot of heat. Buy a new cat, or have someone fix that heat shield.
