Ok brothers, i need ur guys support....im racing a 2002 bmw m3 all stock manual in a 1/4....m3's that year run a 13.3 in a 1/4 mile, he has 19's and hes a 18 yr old, so im thinkin on the street, to put that much power down, he mite be runnin a 14 flat or low 14's...

What im runnin...
95 integ Ls 5-spd
aem short ram intake
greddy evo exhaust
4-2-1 dc sports headers
**80 shot nitrous nx kit**
15 inch nitto street drags
Stock bottom end

ill be shooting nitrous end of 1st gear, all of 2nd, all of 3rd, and 4th...just tell me if i have a chance guys....im thinking if im ahead of him 1st and 2nd gear ill take him the whole way...I know i dont have much in my car, but im not rich, im the underdog here, im not fightin with much, but im a good driver and i think i can take him...this race will be video taped...its gonna happen in 2 weeks, jus give me all the advice u can give me

 

seems like the race will be pretty even actually. My friend just went to the track in his m3 with a full catback, cai, intake manifold, m5 clutch, and chip, with brand new tires on 18's, and he ran a 14.7

if you drive well, shift fast, and spray that ****** you should take him no prob.

Actually race him only till about the end of your third, he will catch up in forth. But the end of third start of forth is the end of the quarter for an LS tranny. If he talks **** tell him to go drive 170mph on the auto bahn G/L

 

you should beat him . you got 2 weeks , go get yourself a b16 tranny

When ur shooting a 80 shot of nitrous, im pretty sure your gears will go through quicker.....but thanks for the support guys and having confidence....if i pull on em hard 1st n 2nd, i should be able to take him

 

i think if you keep your tire pressure low and you rev high as hell (you have to smash him off the line) you should get him off the line and he wont catch up till after the quarter mile. your launch is the key point in the race.

 

This sounds like it would be a very very close race. But i'm supporting you cuz i think you will take him. Just take out ur spare, all the unecessary weight, launch good, spray tha sucka, and beat it!

Yea ill lower the tire pressure.....but everytime i read up on 2002 2003 m3's, all i see is 13.3 13.4 in the 1/4 mile, and quick quick 0-60 mph times, im kinda nervous, but ill still run baby...one more quick question, do i have to spray in 1st gear? cuz if i get him good off the line should i just use it in 2nd, 3rd, n 4th only insteada 1st, 2nd, 3rd, n 4th

 

here is the best advice make sure it is at a track and stay off the streets when racing

13.4 is with a professional driver...I doubt your friend is half as good as a pro driver...Hope you win, but don't blow your motor up just for 14 secs down the track. If his car is too fast and you can't beat him on the drag strip, then learn how to autocross. You'll eat him if you have the skill no matter how fast his car is.

 

if he's running on street tires he'll have a hard time trying to grab traction on the launch especially if it's his first time at the strip.

my advice... get him on the take off and drive how you drive.


If all else fails... hit up the road course at Infineon Race way =P

Driver against driver is more fun

If that doesn't work out... grab a pair of boxing gloves

 

I have a 98 ls same set up with 75 shot though my best time is 13.9 you can go to this web addresse and look at one of my videos were I ran a 14 flat. http://www.uncensoredimports.com goto video on left of screen mikes teg at track. That was with the spare tire and back seat and all so if you strip all those things out before you race get a good launch you should take him. If this is at a track you should spray the whole way even in first but make good grip before you floor it because his 18's or 19's i dont remember what you said he had but they are not going to grab for ****. I also have 15in konig holes with falken azinas tires they launch great just lower the preasure a little and smoke his rich mommas boy ***!
