Default tire size?

What size tire should I go with?
I'm going from a stock DX wheel 175/ 70/ 13 to a 16" X 7" wheel. Is 205/50/16
a good size? or should I go lower than 50?

It depends on what diameter you want. Right now you have a diameter of 22.62 inches. If you went with a 205/50/16, you'd have a diameter of 24.07 inches. A 205/40/16 would actually be closer to your diameter, although I am not sure how available that size is. The width of 205 is roughly 8 inches, good for that rim size. Just some good info, to figure tire diameter, take your width(205) multiply it by your aspect ratio( remember that your aspect ratio is a percentage of your width(50)). Then divide that number by 25.4 to convert it to inches. That gives you your sidewall height. Multiply that by two, add you rim size and you'll have your diameter.

you should go with the 205/40's. I ran 205/40 on my 17's with no problem. I didn't run into rubbing issues until I went 215/40/17. So with the 16's you can prob do either one, but the 40 series will be closer to your original diameter.
