Default Crank Removal?

I am in the process of building a D16Y8 for boost. I Don't have a Y8 manual so I assumed for the most part a 91 Civic SI manual would do fine. Well I guess I was wrong...the manual shows you taking the ten bolts out the top of the bridge and says lift it off...did that....well it's not lifting off. I can't see anything holding it on. Here are some pics see if I am doing anything wrong.

Lightly tap the girdle from each side with a rubber mallet until it starts to seperate.

Crap don't have a rubber mallet, anything else work. I read in a haynes (hate that book) to hit it with a hammer....not to keen on hitting something like that with a hammer.

Put a short piece of 2X4 wood on the girdle and tap on the wood.
