civic seats will not work in a crx and vice versa unless you do some serious modifications. 88-89 seats/90-91 civic seats are different. Im not sure on crx. You would have to modify the brackets to fit the stock rails. lot of work. Its just like putting a 90-93 integ seat in a 88-91 civic.
yo waylon!! you may need to swap out the seat pans (if the seats are put together the same underneath)otherwise..iits best to try to get the same year seats for same year crx(duh)as usual my .02 is worth less that that
i was asking this for a friend who is trying to put 91 crx seats in a 88-91 civic.. not sure which.
the civic rails won't bolt up to the crx seats?

88 CRX seat rails are different, (the right rear bolt)
89-91 CRX seat rails are the same.
Well the ones that I had owned are anyways.
Not sure on the Civics just know the CRX one.

I just tried putting 88 CRX SI setas in my 89 Civic hatch (Std) and the two weren't even close to the same. The rail on the Civic seat is offset like 2-3 inches on the inside and they don't line up at all.
The seat pans aren't interchangable because the seats are built totally different.
You would HAVE to do some welding to get it to work, that or make some crazy *** brackets and switch the rails/sliders. I'm selling my CRX SI seats - totally not worth the work.

Thanks for the info man, I was going to look for some 88 CRX seats for my 88 Hatch but after what you say souns like the 88-89 Crx seats are't that much different. I had the same problem with mine.
Got a theory though. Canadian spec Civics all had the seatbelts in the back of the car, not the door. So I wonder if Canadian Spec seats fit in a US 88-89? If any body know if this works or if a Canadian EF Hatch owner is reading this take some pictures of your seat rails for me.
I wish it wasn't so damn hard to find some nice 88-89 Civic seats!

civic and crx are VERY different due to difference in the shape of the floor, and the crx rails ar about 3 inches further apart from each other.
we took 90 si seats and modded them into a 89 STD hatch.
it was a lot of work. we used stamped metal from home depot to relocate the rails without drilling new holes. and the outside rear bolt is 2 inches different in height, so we stacked 2 inches of washers and used 3 inch bolts to hold the rear one in.
to mount in the car was the same since we used the STD rails on the crx seats, usually people drill new holes in the car, thread it, and use those newly made holes, but we didnt want to do that.
so he has options, but none of them are "bolt in and go"
good luck!
