Default Rear speaker pods/mounts?

Thought maybe someone posted this... I just checked my 'rex and I dont have a single rear speaker mount. I know there is some JDM mount that looks like a pod, saw it once, but wish I had paid more attention..

Anyone have any idea where I can get some rear mounts, or those pod things?

crutchfield.com these are for a cr-x but should work for any ef. just try to mount them between the interior trim and the actual speaker bracket.

if you wanted to, you can go to ebay and find the JDM basstubes, totally up to you.

here is my diagram for placing the mounting brackets.

(interior trim) | speaker mounting plate | [speaker bracket]

i hope that makes sense, i put the bracket on the outside and the speaker covers didnt fit well at all because the speaker didnt clear them.

Im lost... I dont have any mounting hardware for the rear, so what bracket are you talking about attaching to?

The JDM basstubes would be great, if i could find them

NO!!!!
the part you pointed to should already be in there...IF the metal bracket to accomodate the 6.5" speakers isn't screwed into the part that you pointed ...THEN an attachment kit is required.
honda part number-----> 08118-SH295AH suggested retail around $16. don't expect the local dealer to stock it...need to special order.

little bit of background....NONE of the 88-91 civics or CRXs came to the US with a factory installed radio. No radio, no speakers, not even an antenna. for that matter they also didn't come from the factory with air conditioning. Radios, speakers, antenna and a/c were all installed at the dealer before the car was delivered to the customer. while the dealer i work at installed four speakers, some dealers only installed front speakers. the crx required an attachment kit to install the rear speakers. this kit is still available for ordering from your local honda dealer. part number 08118-SH295AH. suggested retail is around $16 but dealers make thier own price.
