Default Body Repair Question

Hey all, my moms car was in a front end accident and I have a quick question about a part that I'll be replacing...

http://gallery.thevboard.com/s...2.jpg

That just the general damage, I'll be replacing the rad, a/c, headlight, hood, and the hood latch bar....the question I have is : are the two circled pieces connected as 1 piece or can they be removed separately? I think theyre connected by a part that runs under the bumper that I circled as well. I'd like to get by just replacing one side instead of the whole deal. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not overly familiar with that model accord, but I believe that they are one piece. At any rate, if the only part that is damaged is the right piece you circled, it might not have to be replaced at all, just bent back into shape. As long as it doesn't interfere with the hood closing or any other moving part, a little bit of warped metal there won't hurt a bit.

Yeah I'm thinking its one piece as well, but after looking a little bit more and looking at my EX (that has no motor) the metal doesnt seem very thick at the bottom, so I'm considering cutting it in half with alittle bit overlapping and just putting a bolt through it. She doesnt need the car 100% just drivable, so getting the rad in even if its with just 1 mount will work, I'm just concerned about the headlight mostly. The hood can be held on with just 1 side bolted or I can just modify it to work.

I'm certainly going to try this first, so long as I can get the rad and a/c in right and get the hood to close it'll be ok till I can work on the headlight, thats going be my biggest deal, but hey, if worse comes to worse she can take some of the $ from her insurance check to fix that part right, I can do the hood and bumper no prob. Just trying to save her a couple hundred bucks.

since u doing all the work man u should get the whole piece. its only the top part. ur lucky that only that part and not the side is hit. if the bar and the site was hit then u going to have to junk the part.

the bar can be changed by taking off some bolts etc. hey if u doing the work just do it good. it will help u with the radiator sitting and the head lights. the car will look as good as before.
