Default My Big CRX Project

Here are a few pictures of my All Motor CRX project. I will keep everyone up to date on this project. Look forward to seeing more pictures of this project soon. I have tons more to do on this project.

A little picture of the busted up body

Yeah, the inside is going to need a lot of work.

Don't worry. Just trying to mount seat. Its coming right back out to finish taking tar off floor, and to paint inside.

Finally getting rid of that ugly front end.

Starting to look alot better. Still needs some work though

More pictures coming soon.

Well its going to be a B17 motor. I already sleeved it to 85 mm. And i am going with 13:1 compression. I live close to a gas station where i can fill up on race gas. I also have a 5 gallon fuel cell that i am going to put in. So filling up only 5 gallons of race gas every other week will not be bad on my pocket

I am running a AEM EMS for Engine management. And i am going to run some Vtec Eliminator Cams.

I want to paint the engine bay. Thats why i am going to paint before the motor goes in. I have a engine lift, and power tools. So i think i will be fine as far as not messing up the paint.

As for me i slapped in a JDM B16 w/LSD. Had alot of problems getting it started. When i got the motor the fuel injectors were bad. So i used the stock ones from my D16A6 got it started. i ran for about a week. I had all kind of complications with the motor overheating. Come to find out the thermostat and water pump was bad. Got that done then after about 2 days the damn car won't start again.

So then it was back to the drawing board. checkign the injectors, they weren't spraying again. Also i couldn't hear the fuel pump. I'm going to be running a turbo setup so i obvisouly had a new fuel pump and injectors waiting to be installed anyway. So i slapped in my Walbro 255 Fuel Pump and installed my RC injectors. Guess what the car still won't turn over. So i go and double check everything makeing sure everything is correct and it was. At this point im lost, and im thinking all kids of crazy stuff, like maybe it the fuel rail and pressure regulator.
So i buy a new AEM Fuel Rail and B&M Pressure regulator. Slap it on car still doesn't start. Now at this point im thinking i got a bad motor and im ready to go off on the guy from JDMEnginedepot.

3 days have passed with this prob car won't start, im fed up ready to give up on this project. I happened to see a friend of mine that has alot of experience with crx's. i explained the prob to him and he decieded to check it out. After about 20 mins he got the damn car started.

Now before i post what the problem was, i wanna have a little fun. The first person to guess what the problem was and post it. I will Paypal 10 bucks to your paypal account.

Its not going to be a daily driver. I have not bought the pistons yet, because i am not sure what brand i want to buy.O yeah. i am using my own custom Girdle, Block Guard around sleeves, LSD, cam seals, and gaskets, that i designed. I will post pictures of them soon.
Here are a few pictures of my daily driver.

I was doing the same build-up. B16A2 block with B17A1 crank, Crower rods, RS Machines 85mm sleeves and Arias 85mm pistons. They were measured at 12.6:1 with a stock head gasket with this set-up. Might want to give them a try.

May I ask why run a block guard with aftermarket sleeves?

If you use Dry Ice, The tar knocks right out. I am using a block guard since the sleeves are so thin.

I live in South Florida ( Miramar )

You're using afermarket sleeves right? If so there's plenty of people running 86mm daily drivers without problems. I guess not a big deal. Just never a fan of block guards.
