car starts and runs fine, ONCE A DAY!! one start wonder, need help..
95 cx hatch, w/gsr swap ran fine for months, now will only start when cold, cranks and cranks, then fires and coughs and chokes for a few seconds, blows black smoke and sounds like a chain smoker first thing in the morning......
car runs perfectly after about a few seconds....... drive around, shut it off, and it wont restart..... wont even fire at all........let it sit a day and does it all over again.......
computer has been chipped.....
chip failure???
fuel pressure seems good......
getting spark......
timing is good.......
no cel's...
swapped dizzys to a known working one.......
main relay was swapped also...
we have now gotten the car to start when holding the pedal to the floor..... it acts like a serious flooded condition.....
only thing im still thinking is the chip failure/ecu....
thanks...

check ECT, sometimes when the ect is broken it sends the cold signal to the ECU, so the ECU reads the engine as cool and works on closed loop, when you turn it off and try to start it again (when the car is hot) then it will be flooded and it won't start, when you give it full throtle to start it hot, the more air gets in and the "closed loop" maps aren't as rich on top (as a matter of fact, sometimes it looks pretty much like the open loop maps)
good luck
