I just did the conversion.

There are other threads on this topic.

My problems were frozen bolts.
Parking cables lengths
Removing parking cables from car.

Mine is for street, You might not need parking brake.

I'm not going to tell you whether it should or shouldn't be done, I'll leave that decision up to you but if you do decide to do it... To do it properly you really should raplace the proportioning valve(40/40), the brake booster, and Master Cylinder for the full effect and proper braking ability. Depending on the MC you use, you may have to bend cut and re-flare the hard lines to make the connections to the MC. I used a MC/BB from a 94+ Integra so I had to bend and re-flare the lines. If you use one from the Si's or the EX's that had optional 4 wheel disc, I don't think you have to do that since the connections are on the same side.

As far as parking brake cables, I could not get a hold of the proper length cables (94+ Integra) so I ended up using some from an old 89 Integra (plenty of them sitting in salvage) which were a bit on the long side. This was fine, it still works but I had to tuck the extra slack in the cable up near the gas tank. I also had to remove the mounting brackets from my old drum cables and place them on the new donor cables to get them installed... a bit of a pain... it would be much easier with the right cables to begin with as they would bolt right up with no modifications and no tucking.

The swap i have in my garge for the last few months has cables on it.......how can i tell if they are the right lenght for my 93 CIVIC hatch?

Change the master for 15/16th even if i use a 9" caliper up front?

If it has the cables intact and they came with the trailing arms/hubs/rotors etc. then I'm assuming the setup came from a 94+ Integra (we are talking about a EG 5th gen civic receiving these parts right?). If that is the case then you are lucky and the cables will fit. A lot of times with the swap they will just cut the cables when removing the trailing arms from the donor... if they took the time to keep yours intact then you are good to go. Did you get the hydraulic lines intact also? If so you can use those too but check them for wear (cracks etc.) I prefer SS Braided lines as they don't expand and give even better/firmer feel but that's additional jingle that you'll need to come up with to do the swap.

As for the MC I would still replace it even though you only have a 9" rotor up front because the MC will drastically improve pedal feel.

You've probably already heard this but I'll say it again... You should seriously look into upgrading those fronts because that is where the most improvement can be made in braking.

I'm not 100% sure but you should be able to fit 13s over your stock disks.

I was thinkg along the lines of using rotors from an EX or Si which I believe are only an inch or so larger... not sure if that will fit with a 13... I forgot you mentioned using 13's but they certainly work on my 14'' steelies and it seems like there would be enough clearance for a 13" but not positive so don't take my word on that.

14" wheels with some 10" brakes from Fastbrakes with 4 piston would be ideal...but they do not make a wide *** 14" inch wheel unless i pay throught the nose.

changing to the disc from a EX or Si will require a new upright(knuckle) from one of those cars. this is needed to locate the caliper correctly. the caliper need to move further away from the hub to fit over the 10.2" disc. also note that there are two different calipers that came on the Si/EX cars. one uses the 273 size pad & the other uses the 617 (which is the same as the integra). iirc, if it came with abs, it used the 617.

Yes very true... I didn't bother getting into the details but thank you for covering that so well

Basically what I would do to upgrade the front is to get the whole assembly similiar to how you would do the rear with the trailing arm, etc. It's the easiest/quickest way... unless of course you like sourcing parts and piecing things together

I think that i will get 14 x 8 or 14 x 7 wheels and go with a Fastbrakes 10.5 Kit with the Willooods 4 pistons..and use the Si rear brakes. Get a 1" MC and Pop valve and re flare all the lines (obviouly with the booster).

Anyone know what back spacing or offset you need for a 14 x 8" wheel on a EG.

Is this for autox?

I wouldnt bother with the fastbrakes kit and bigger wheels for autox use.

Yeah it is, but the car does see tack time and some time trials events...so i do want to get somthing a little bit better for eveything. Or i stick with 9" fronts and drums and use just that system...but it get so hot on the track. I head up for some lapping 3 times a month.
