Default weird gas problem

I haven't used my car in about 2 weeks and my fuel gauge was pointing a little bit below 1/2 tank. Once I started it and started to drive I noticed the needle going lower and lower up until 1/4 tank. I did not smell any fuel and I checked for leaks and there was none. Also my car was not parked on an incline either. Did anyone ever experience this or know someone that has?

Someone's been stealing your gas?? Your gauge stays at the old position, until you turn on the car. Then it finally measures the new level of gas.
