Just the block or whole engine? Its still a B18 block so I dunno. If it's the whole engine....

What about the crank? Type R's crank is balanced, more horsies by doing that(I think). Why does it have the LS block in the first place?

it has everything that a type-r has including the balanced crank but the block is an Ls and the reason for an Ls block is because the car was stolen and then engine, tranny got stolen. so now it is restored and has a type-r tranny and a type-r motor with an ls block. everything is type-r except the block. thanx

that's imporrible......the ITR rods will not fit into a LS block.....they are diffrent lengths....even ITR pistons need modification to fit the LS rods...........

i dont know what you friend is talking about........

Just because the crank is balanced does not mean you get more Horsepower. Also the ITR crank is heavier than the LS crank.

If you have a LS short block (LS crank/LS pistons) and the rest ITR, You should gain slightly more torque than an ITR.

Why wouldnt ITR rods and ITR pistons fit on an ITR Crank?? inside a LS block.

It should (depending on tuning) perform slightly better than a stock ITR during drag or normal driving, but it does not have the oil squirters or the nice pistons that could rev continuosly up to the ITR rpms. Remember the LS had a redline at 7600rpms.

assuming it's ITR pistons.. 89.0mm stroke vs. 87.2mm stroke..

you'll pick up about 4-6hp/tq across the board. worthwhile investment.

stick a LS crank and rods in a ITR block. r/s ratio is over-rated. displacement is king on the street.
