I have a EF with a B16A, and the vtec is not hooked up. So for my first question, how would this make the car run? My car lacks power, extremely bad and i want to get this figured out. Also i did a compression test thinking it would be the rings by chance (checked everything else)...and it came out at 150 on each cylinder. Does that sound a bit low or is it me?

What else should i check out? The timing has to be advanced (distributor rotated all the way) for the car to run reliably. As in i have to drive it everyday. Its not a timing issue, we have it set dead on with the distributor advanced. With it set dead center, the car ran like crap. I have checked the timing 3 times now and its still dead on, and even took it to a shop and they said they couldn't figure it out.

Someone with a little bit of knowledge please help me out. I need the help fast.
