Default final drive question...is this option really worth it for me

ok, i basically have a stock b18c5 engine in my gsr, and am lookin into redoing the transmission this winter...i have a salvage yard out here that has a usdm itr final drive and countershaft available...i talked the guy down to 125.00....but dont i need the first gear also...will this final drive work in my gsr tranny and will the difference be noticeable?

next option

just save up and spring for a new jdm fd or ats fd

which would be the most worth it for the price?

the usdm ITR / GSR final drives are the same. Nothign will change. The first gears are the same too i believe (someone back me up on that)

Basically, you'd have the same ratios. Save up for the jdm fd.

NO. The final drive is exactly the same in the GSR as in the USDM Type R trannies. You will see no difference. If you want to see a difference get the entire Type R tranny as the two trannies differ in gearing and the LSD found in the Type R tranny.
