Default questions about my LS/VTEC *pics*

I blew my ITR bottom end, so Im in the process of fully building an LS/VTEC for high boost set up as a replacement. A couple pics and questions.
LS Block - B18A1

2000 ITR block

First off, in the first pic, there are 3 sensors/connectors near the oil filter location. I know one is the oil pressure switch, which is the same as the ITR, but not sure what the other two are. The ITR block DOES NOT have these other two sensors/connectors. I have a Helms for the B18B1, and it seems to say that the green connector in the first pic is a knock sensor. However I was under the impression that the B18A1 DOES NOT have a knock sensor and I was going to use the one from the ITR, which is the black sensor at the top of the ITR block in the second pic. Can anyone give me some clarification since I dont have a Helms handy for a B18A1 block? And what would I do since the ITR harness doesnt have a connector for these?

Secondly, I want to use the ITR oil cooler, and I know this can be done. However, on the LS block, how do I remove the threaded portion of the oil filter location? The ITR cooler and threaded portion came right off because it is one piece and screwed right off. But the LS threaded portion has no nut to remove the threaded portion so I can put in the ITR threaded portion and the oil cooler.

Thanks for the help.

The big green jelly looking one is the ECT I believe, it is located near the themostat neck on newer models. I know that when I put a newer block into an old car I have to lengthen those two wires up to the coolant neck and put a different connector on.

The larger green one with the 2 pins sticking out is the rad fan switch. Turns the rad fan on and off when the coolant temp gets high enough/low enough. Extend the wires from the one on the thermostat housing on the ITR motor to this one on the LS block.

The other 2 pin green is the ECT (Engine coolant temperature) sensor. This one tells the ECU how hot (or cold) the coolant (engine) is. This one will be in the side of the ITR head near where the distributor goes in.

Grab a pair of vice grips and unscrew the threaded stub from the center of the oil filter boss.

awesome info guys, thank you very much. So basically Ill just have to extend the connectors on the harness so they reach the new locations?

Not even. You can use the existing ECT thats in your ITR head. Just leave it plugged in where it is now, and ignore the one on the back of the block. You will have to extend the wires to the rad fan switch though.

The switch on your b18a that plugs into the oil drain passage (the lower of the 2 green connectors, the one replaced by a plug on the ITR block) monitors oil temp and turns the AC fan on for 15 mins. after shutdown on 90-93 Integras to lower underhood temps.

The newer b18 engines don't have these - maybe the airflow is better on the DC chassis? ANyway, your fan control box won't look for it, so you can ignore it (or pull it out for the Endyn breather kit...)

You can just grab it with a vise grips and twist it out, counter-clockwise. You'll also have to tap the block for the water neck that the cooler uses - there is a blank on the block for it, but it's not drilled on the b18a block.

Thanks for that additional info. This is my first real project that Im doing by myself, so I know most of what needs to be done, but a lot of the fine details are where I get stuck. Drilling and tapping the block for the external VTEC oil lines, and the oil cooler, is going to be a challenge but I think I can handle it with a few practice attempts on the old ITR block.
